Smartstick

WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF INNOVATION FOR FOOD JUSTICE AND THE DECENTRALIZATION OF THE FOOD SYSTEM

Thematic Area

Cross Cutting: Agriculture, Food Security, Advisory System, Early Warning.
A device that uses a range of sensors to gather atmospheric and environmental data in farms which are analyzed using AI driven predictive models to forecast and recommend best conditions for high produce yield.The device will aggregate and measure over an extended period
– humidity,
– detect rain and record time it starts and stops each day;
– take environmental temperatures at 09.00 am and 6.00 pm each day;
– Possibly measure the quantity of rainfall in millimeters.
– Powered by solar cellsThe device will gather this data and push it to a cloud server via a GSM module where real-time data will be analyzed using Machine Learning and deep learning techniques to create forecasts on quality of produce or advisory service that helps decision making which will lead to favourable outcomes on crop yield.

Overview/Aim

This proposed device is aimed at getting Temperature and humidity readings from a DHT11 and sensing when it’s raining using RAIN SENSORS. Possibly measuring the quantity of rainfall using TIPPING BUCKET RAIN GAUGE OR RAIN SENSOR as well.
The readings from the various sensors would then be sent to a database or cloud using the A6 GSM/GPRS module. This module should be able to upload the readings to the server at a given interval (15 minutes).
The system is aimed to be powered by a SOLAR PANEL with a 3.3v backup power source (3.3v LITHIUM BATTERY) which would be charged by the solar panel in the day. A BOOST CONVERTER would be connected along the line to step up the voltage from the lithium battery.
Readings from the SmartStick device are pushed to the cloud and matched against pre-existing pre-loaded patterns
